Mahnomen Public Schools is seeking nominees for its Title VI Indian Education Parent Committee.
Title VI is a federal program that allocates funding to school districts to provide additional services to American Indian students.
The law requires a Parent Advisory Committee made up of parents and/or grandparents of Title VI students currently attending Mahnomen Public Schools.
This committee gives recommendations to the district’s administration and school board regarding the District’s Indian Education Program.
Nominations will be accepted through May 11, 2016 with elections being held at Mahnomen School on May 13th and May 20, 2016 during the Elementary and High School Music Programs. Eligible voters may request and submit an absentee ballots between May 13th and May 20th.
