Mahnomen/Waubun Activities Co-op

Community Discussion Forum

Where:  Waubun High School

When: Wednesday, May 31, 2017  6:00pm

Mahnomen School District and Waubun-Ogema-White Earth District will be hosting a joint parent, student and community open forum to discuss Activity Co-op options. There is a nation and state wide trend on participation numbers decreasing in school activities. Especially as students get older and move from Jr. High to Sr. High School.  Our Districts are no exception.  As our participation numbers at both schools are decreasing, certain activities and opportunities are at risk of being eliminated. The School Board members that serve on the Activities Committee as well as the Activities Directors and Administration would like the opportunity to share information and have discussions about challenges and opportunities for programs in our communities.  Pros and Cons of expanding our current Co-op Activities will be discussed.  Options regarding pairing for one or two additional activities, all the way to a full coop in all activities will be discussed. We encourage your attendance and input at this meeting.
