Homecoming festivities began this with the announcement of the candidates at our Annual People Parade–This year’s theme was “A Blast From the Past '' where we saw many different costumes celebrating various decades! Our candidates for King were Tate Ose, Dawson Darco, Carter Clark, and Michael Weaver Jr. Queen candidates were Kaylie Jensen, Ava Graff, Gabby Higsun, and Ebony Watson.
Also honored at the Homecoming Coronation were Isabella Drift and Jace Estey, crownbearers from Mahnomen Elementary and returning royalty, Kasey Wadena and Asondra Weaver.
The Student Council came together to organize daily "guess the candy" games and dress up days of the week; Pajama Day, Jersey Day, Color Wars, Favorite Celebrity Day and Spirit Day took place in the high school. In the elementary students dressed up for Pajama Day, Sports Day, Color Wars, SuperHero Day, and Spirit Day!
Highlighed throughout the week were our fall sports teams--JV and JH football played against Hawley, varsity volleyball played against LPA and Park Christian, and the JV and varsity football teams hosted Red Lake County. Adding a fun twist to the week was PowderPuff Football!
The Homecoming Dance featured Sound Enagement DJ Service out of Fargo, ND! The theme was a neon glow theme with over 250 students from Mahnomen and Waubun attending. What a fun week!
Student Council works hard to plan and organize various events and activities such as this--watch for SnoDaze in the winter and Prom in the spring!
