The Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office and Mahnomen Public School's School Resource Officer are proud to introduce the new Explorer Program Post #2626.
Through this program, participants will explore proper police protocol, community policing, call for service response, crime scene investigation, radio use/phonetics, first aid, interviewing, report writing, search and arrest procedures, traffic stops, and firearm safety.
Applicants must be enrolled in Mahnomen or Waubun High School in grades 9-12, complete an in-person interview, background check, maintain a 2.0 GPA and have an interest in Law Enforcement. More applicant requirements can be found in the program's brochure located with the high school office.
Sign up is available between September 15th and 24th, meetings will be held the 2nd Thursday of each month from 1:45-2:45PM in Waubun. Transportation will be provided for Mahnomen students.
