🚗 Drivers Education Opportunity!
Mahnomen Community Education will be offering a Drivers Education course for students in 9th grade or older.
📅 Starts: Tuesday, March 17, 2026
⏰ Time: 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM
📍 Location: Mahnomen Alternative Building
This course includes:
✔️ 30 hours of classroom instruction
✔️ 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training (scheduled later)
💰 Cost:
• $120 due at the start of classroom instruction
• $270 due when behind-the-wheel training is scheduled
📌 Registration Deadline: Friday, March 13
Forms and payment must be turned in to Kim Kochmann.
Checks should be made payable to Mahnomen Public School.
👥 Class size is limited to 20 students, so sign up early!

Our talented 7th grade students have officially become authors, illustrators, and publishers!
They recently completed their own books:
📖 King Waffles VS King Pancake
🌌 Northern Lights
💭 Max's Imagination
Students wrote the stories, illustrated the pages, and worked through the entire publishing process. They put in a lot of hard work and creativity, and the results are amazing books they should be very proud of!

Due to the extreme cold forecasted for our area, including dangerously low wind chills, we are adjusting our schedule to prioritize student safety.
The district will implement the following schedule this week:
Early dismissal on Thursday (1/22) at 12:00 PM noon to ensure students can travel safely home before the coldest temperatures arrive.
Friday (1/23) will be an e-learning day for all students. School buildings will be closed, and activities will be canceled unless otherwise announced, but learning will continue remotely.
